Topical CBD
Topical CBD, whether it be pain creams, muscle gels, or lotion, can help pain or inflammation in a specific area of your body, like your joints. It’s been shown in preclinical trials to reduce joint swelling, pain, immune cell infiltration after four days of consecutive use, without evident side effects. Other studies have found that local application blocked OA nerve pain while helping prevent nerve damage in affected joints in people suffering with osteoarthritis (OA).
Topical CBD products applied at the site of pain help by working with cannabinoid receptors on the skin. The concentration of the CBD (i.e. 500 or 1000mg) can make a difference as to how much you apply and how often. Adjust the amounts and time applied based on your pain.
Sublingual cbd oils are one of the fastest delivery methods to receptors, but CBD topicals applied directly to the inflamed area can reduce pain and irritation quickly in a specific area of the body. As with any supplements, contact your doctor if you have any concerns about taking CBD with any of your medications, and if you are pregnant or nursing.
