CBD and Hemp FAQs
Hemp is defined by the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill as plants of the cannabis sativa species that contain < or equal to .3% THC making their extracts legal. Our farmers are Permit Holders under the South Carolina Hemp Program.
CBD (Cannabinoid) is a non-psychoactive compound found in the Hemp plant. Our CBD Oil is extracted from CCOF certified, organic hemp plants. We use a superior method called CO2 Extraction to process our oil. All of the process and extraction is done in South Carolina using no solvents.
Everyone’s body responds differently to CBD Oil, but we recommend our customers take it every day and use it consistently for the best results. How often you take it depends on the concentration you purchase. Our droppers measure 1ml and the bottle has 30ml of CBD Oil. If you are using a lower concentration you may take it twice a day vs. a higher concentration which may be used once a day.
Our CBD tincture is designed to put under your tongue. Put a full dropper under your tongue and hold there for at least 15 seconds up to 60 seconds before swallowing.
No. CBD Oil is non-psychoactive and will not get you high.
When first looking into the benefits of hemp, this might be your first question and biggest concern. You want to make sure that this is something that will benefit your body, without compromising your every day decision making and executive functioning. As legalization of marijuana becomes more prevalent, some might lump hemp, and its by-product CBD, into the same category – when in fact they are not the same.
According to the World Health Organization in December of 2017, “cannabidoil does not appear to have abuse potential or cause harm.” Later they reported that further studies will continue, but that there have been “therapeutic values” to using CBD or hemp oil.
CBD is a nickname for cannabidoil, which simply is a naturally occurring compound found in hemp and cannabis plants. THC, or tetrahydrocannadinol is not the main component found in CBD oil, thus not giving you that “high” that marijuana is famous for. Basically, think of it as marijuana’s sober cousin – it gives you all the health benefits without the high.
The majority of CBD and industrial hemp products on the market contain trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Depending on the amount used, consistency of the product, and the drug testing methodology employed, it is technically possible to develop detectable THC levels from CBD use.
Further, if the drug test is federally-mandated, using CBD for medical purposes may not be considered an “legitimate” explanation for testing positive.
While the concentration of THC in our regular USDA Organic CBD Oil is never more than 0.3% by weight and it is highly unlikely that moderate CBD use will make you fail a drug test, it could still happen. We also offer a THC Free CBD Oil for those who prefer it. We aren’t responsible for any damages or liabilities that result from testing positive for THC after using our products.
