Dosage 101 Part 1
One of the most common questions in the CBD world is, “How much CBD oil do I take?”. The simplest answer is: people come in all shapes and sizes, and their bodies may receive CBD oil differently. The way the receptors in our Endocannabinoid System (ECS) receive CBD can vary. The key is consistency. Start with a dropper of your CBD oil and take once or twice a day.
Many people take CBD to help them sleep, so try taking your desired dose 30 minutes before bed. If it does not make you sleepy, you can take your CBD in the morning.
The amount you take depends on the concentration of CBD in your oil. A dropper is normally 1mL, so a 30mL (1oz) bottle has 30 servings. In a bottle with 1200mg of CBD, each dropper is equal to 40mg (1200/30). Take the lowest dose recommended on your bottle of CBD oil for the first couple of weeks. You can then double the amount to gain maximum benefits or add another dose in the morning if you are taking it 30 minutes before bed.
Make note of your dosage and times so you can be consistent. You can adjust up or down until you find the balance and results you are looking for. When taking the CBD oil, it is important to release the contents of the dropper under your tongue and hold for 15-60 seconds. You can swallow alone or with water.

Topicals (pain creams, muscle gels and lotion) can be applied to skin as needed. Apply to any area where there is inflammation and pain. Concentration of CBD (ie 500 or 1000mg) can make a difference as to how much you apply and how often. Adjust the amounts and time applied based on your pain.
Gummies and capsules also have different concentrations of CBD and can be taken in the morning or at night. Gummies, topicals and oils can be formulated to include cannabinoids that target different symptoms such as sleep, pain, anxiety, and the need for balance.
Oils are one of the fastest delivery methods to receptors, but topicals applied directly to the inflamed area can reduce pain and irritation quickly in a specific area of the body. As with any supplements, contact your doctor if you have any concerns about taking CBD with any of your medications and if you are pregnant or nursing.
